Role Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for all customer quality and engineering issues, providing proactive support and response.
2. Understand customer requirements and expectations in detail, communicating with the internal team to ensure the requirements are fully understood.
3. Serve as the main focal point for customers, internal teams, and suppliers for all quality and engineering issues throughout the program life, from initiation to end of life.
4. Project manage product quality and engineering requirements through ISIR, capability studies, AAR, etc., in support of NPI, APQP, and PPAP.
5. Define, specify, and support the project management, manufacture, and introduction of necessary test equipment and gauging to satisfy quality requirements.
6. Define and optimise measurement techniques to deliver a stable and capable production process utilising SPC and support DOE activities when required.
7. Support design reviews and prototype builds.
8. Lead the team in preparation of Control Plans and support D/PFMEA reviews as appropriate, documenting output using the necessary systems defined in NPI, APQP, PPAP, and company/customer procedures.
9. Support production team training in relation to customer expectations and quality requirements.
10. Take responsibility for recording, progressing, responding to, and closing out customer concerns utilising 8D or other problem-solving techniques as required.
11. Support Supplier APQP and supplier development and improvement.
12. Manage and report customer-specific KPIs related to Reject PPM and CAR performance.
13. Conduct internal and external audits.
14. Support launch activities as appropriate through PPIR reports, Interim PSW, and alerts.
15. Monitor warranty acceptance rates and maintain responses to pallets within identified timing.
16. Conduct negotiations to correct warranty billing.
17. Manage open warranty projects and maintain zero aged open current model projects.
Preferred Education & Experiences to Fulfil Role (Essential & Desirable):
1. Proven experience in Quality Engineering in Automotive 1st Tier.
2. Degree, HND, HNC, IQA, or equivalent.
3. Previous plastics experience preferred.
4. Ideally exposure to Jaguar and Land Rover.
5. Experience with customer and automotive industry systems and procedures including IATF16949, ISO9001, APQP, PPAP, etc.
6. Strong customer focus.
7. Analytical with excellent problem-solving skills.
8. Good influencing and negotiation skills.
9. Flexible and adaptable.
