We are seeking a talented and experienced HR Advisor to join our busy team. You will be required to carry out generalist HR advisory support including employee relations, recruitment and selection, the monitoring and maintenance of sickness absence, and the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
The successful candidate should hold a certificate in HR Practice equivalent to the minimum Level 5 CIPD Foundation and have proven previous experience in a similar role. Applicants should have an up-to-date understanding of employment legislation and HR best practice. The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
The ability to meet deadlines and the need for accuracy and attention to detail is also essential. Applicants must have excellent communication and organisational skills and have the ability to work with staff at all levels within the organisation.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL
1. Associate Member of the CIPD
2. CIPD Level 5 Diploma or equivalent professional HR qualification with commitment to work towards Level 7 Advanced Diploma
3. Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development
DESIRABLE
1. A Relevant Degree or equivalent (SCQF Level 9)
2. CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma or equivalent professional HR qualification
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
ESSENTIAL
1. Previous experience of working successfully in an Intermediate/Mid-level HR role
2. Proven experience of case management in the areas of ill-health, performance capability, disciplinaries, grievance (desirable)
3. Proven experience of recruitment and selection processes
4. Proven experience of effectively using HR/Payroll IT systems
5. Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
6. A knowledge of and commitment to safeguarding, equality and diversity and health and safety and their applications in this role
DESIRABLE
1. Knowledge of conditions of employment as applied to the FE and/or public sector
