Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, Roosevelt Drive, Headington, Oxford OX3 7FY As a Grants Officer, you will support Principal Investigators (PIs) and other grant holders to effectively manage their research funding. You will review award letters against applications submitted and raise any variances with the PI or Grants Manager. Additionally, you will provide advice and support to the Principal Investigators and researchers in the preparation of funder applications, working with them to complete funder application forms and liaising with internal and external collaborators. You will be educated to degree level or with equivalent experience relevant to the role as well as experience of administration in a research environment, public sector environment or other large complex organisation. You will be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload under pressure and manage multiple deadlines. You will have experience of research grant costing and grant accounting, including a thorough understanding of the accounting requirements of the major funding bodies.Previous knowledge of research grant funding in UK universities and ideally experience in the administration of research grants and contracts is desirable. This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months A lower grade offer (Grade 5: £31,459- £36,616 p.a.) may be offered with commensurate reduction in responsibilities (and amendment in job title to Grants Assistant ) to a less experienced candidate or candidates who need further training if a suitable candidate cannot be found to fill the Grade 6 position.
