Job Overview We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced social worker to join our ambitious, innovative, and supportive Hospital in-reach Adult Social Care Pathway. It is highly desirable for the successful candidate to be at least 2 years post qualified and have either an Approved Mental Health Professional, Best Interest Assessor or Practice Educator qualification or the willingness to work towards obtaining one of these. You will be advocating and working as part of a multi -disciplinary team with adults with complex mental health needs and their carers. Providing active involvement in the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of service user care, working collaboratively and effectively using evidence-based interventions to develop support and services appropriate to people's individual needs utilising strength-based approaches. The remit of the service is to support the citizens of Staffordshire, based largely at St Georges Hospital in-patient setting, predominantly with adults over the age of 65, as well as adults 18 years and over with mental health and physical health needs. Main duties of the job The post holder will need to be a registered social worker and will be expected to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and other legal and statutory frameworks. Social Work Learning Academy (SWLA) On appointment, the post holder will be auto-enrolled in the SWLA and aligned to the appropriate British Association of Social Work Professional Capabilities Framework. The relevant SWLA ‘stage’ (i.e. stage 1 (ASYE), 2 (Social Worker) or 3 (Advanced Social Worker) will also be agreed taking all prior Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and relevant experience into consideration.
