A valid driving licence is essential for the role
The lifting, handling, transportation of goods, this will include: food, bedding, newspapers, furniture and waste and other items as required. The delivery of medication and oxygen following Pharmaceutical guidelines, Carry out weekly cleaning of Portering vehicles and trailers.
Provide a postal distribution service for staff and patients and where appropriate assisting in the Post Room to sort and process mail. Carrying out checks of Portering vehicles and equipment, ensuring weekly audit documentation is completed and any damage / defects are reported to the line manager, reporting all accidents or damage to vehicles or equipment.
The collection and delivery of medication and medical. Clear and transport all waste streams ensuring that Trust policies are adhered to. Complete any training considered necessary to ensure that departmental standard operating procedures can be performed safely, efficiently and effectively.
To ensure that all goods during transportation are kept secure, that all documents are kept up to date in line with standard procedure
Ensure that weekly cleaning of the general waste and re-cycling bins are maintained and the weekly cleaning of the general rubbish areas and to carry out any other tasks or duties relevant to grade as directed by the Supervisor and Team Leader.
