About Hallmark Engineering Group
Hallmark Engineering Group is seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Commercial Finance Manager to drive the finance function in delivering accurate financial information to aid strategic decision-making. This role is crucial in not only owning the day-to-day finance activities but also integrating with the wider business to improve the quality of financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Accounting & Forecasting - Partnering with other areas of the business to ensure accurate reporting of KPIs, timely invoicing, and correct revenue recognition/WIP adjustments in accordance with accounting standards.
2. Cost Accounting - Accurate recording of costs incurred through manufacturing activities to identify and explain variances. Assisting the operations team with the upcoming implementation of an ERP system to ensure manufacturing transactions (stock movements, BOMs, production orders, WIP) are correctly accounted for.
3. Forecasting - Compiling reliable data to facilitate accurate P&L and cash flow forecasting.
4. Management Information - Support the Finance Director in preparing insightful financial reporting to the Senior Leadership Team.
5. Day to Day Financial Management - Maintaining efficient and robust financial processes, resolving external queries, preparation of supplier payment runs, managing invoice factoring processes, credit control, preparing monthly payrolls for review, submitting VAT returns, collaborating with other members of the team.
What We Are Looking For
1. Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with practical experience.
2. A motivated, commercially-minded individual with outstanding communication skills.
3. Good technical accounting knowledge, including UK Financial Reporting Standards (FRS102 1A).
4. Experience of working in an SME environment (ideally engineering and/or manufacturing) and collaborating effectively with non-financial stakeholders.
5. Understanding of manufacturing transactions (BOM, production orders, stock movements, etc.) highly advantageous.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
