Educational Psychology Service is looking for additional locum support to provide advice for Education, Health and Care needs assessments. In accordance with AEP guidance, two days will be given per assessment and payment will be made on submission of the completed report. The candidate should be available for face-to-face work in schools as the service is no longer working fully remotely. Expecting direct assessments to take place face-to-face, all report writing and admin tasks can be carried out from home.The post holder will be accountable to the Principal and/or Deputy Educational Psychologist and suitable IT equipment will be provided. The candidate is also welcome to attend any virtual CPD and team meetings which happen on a monthly basis and informal support and supervision will be provided on a needs-led basis.
Knowledge & ExperienceCandidates must have substantial knowledge and experience in the following areas of business and will be required to provide evidence of this:§ Experience of supporting EPS at a time of change and transition ensuring that staff are supported and are able to maintain a high level of quality and delivery.§ Management experience in relation to leading a successful EPS.§ Practitioner having successfully delivered educational psychology services to colleges, schools and early years settings§ Working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary context§ Training delivered to schools, settings or others with evidence of impact§ Recent and appropriate knowledge relevant to work of an Educational Psychology Service working in an integrated context§ Knowledge of educational systems, SEND Code of Practice, recent legislation in relation to vulnerable pupils and multi-agency working§ Knowledge of solution-focused, strength based practice, a range of assessment tools and interventions to support change in children, young people and families.
Qualifications§ Professional qualification in Educational Psychology at Masters/Doctoral Level§ Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council§ Good Honours degree in psychology or equivalent recognised by the British Psychological Society.
Decision Making§ Ability to organise service demands and achieve targets within agreed timescales§ Effective personal time management skills, including managing stress§ Support EPs to deliver best practice by making professional supervision effective and valued§ Advise the early help management team on issues relating to EP practice, schools and SEND.
