Sefton Virtual School: Deputy Virtual School Headteacher (Children with a Social Worker).
About Us
Sefton Virtual School works with schools, Social Care teams, carers and a range of services to help improve the educational experiences and outcomes of the children and young people that we serve. The Virtual School supports and challenges service providers to ensure that the most vulnerable children and young people are prioritised within all education services.
About You
As the Deputy Head of the Virtual School (CWASW), you will work with the Virtual School Headteacher to lead, support, and challenge schools and partners to secure the best possible educational outcomes for children and young people with a social worker. The post holder will support the Virtual School Headteacher in further developing and challenging local authority policies and practices to promote and support the best possible outcomes for children in need of social care plans. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated effective leadership in a school and has a passion for promoting the educational attainment of children with a social worker and celebrating their successes.
The successful post holder will have experience of supporting vulnerable children in educational settings, and those out of education, and will be able to demonstrate the impact of their leadership on improved educational outcomes for children. They will understand social care and educational legislation and will use their initiative and imagination to unblock significant barriers to the educational success of these children and young people. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading improvements in the education and outcomes of children with CIN and CP plans, and those previously in the care of the Local Authority.
Are you a passionate, experienced, and determined professional who is ready to take a lead role, working strategically with key partners, to ensure that Sefton fulfills its statutory responsibilities to Children with a social worker, and those previously in its care? Can you develop a strategy that makes visible and responds to the disadvantages that children with a social worker can experience?
If so, we look forward to hearing from you.
Please note that the post is NOT remote – there will be opportunity for some home working but there will be weekly time in the office. The above post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
