Medlock Partners have recently been engaged by our client, a rapidly expanding UK Manufacturing organisation as they look to appoint an ambitious qualified Financial Planning Analyst/Finance Business Partner in a newly created role.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, the Financial Planning Analyst / Finance Business Partner will have responsibility for developing robust financial processes and reporting systems. Your analytical & modelling skills will be essential in transforming data and assumptions into actionable business plans and scenarios that influence our decision-making and drive growth.
You will collaborate (Business Partner) closely with various departments to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and provide financial insights that support business operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the development of the annual budget and routine forecasting.
2. Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and assumptions.
3. Understand process and cost improvements and implement changes to the forecasting software, validating outputs.
4. Perform in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis of actual vs. budgeted results each month.
5. Identify key financial drivers and trends to support tactical and strategic decision-making.
6. Generate ad-hoc financial reports and presentations for senior management.
7. Develop and improve the modelling/budgeting software currently in use.
8. Create and maintain financial models to support long-term financial planning and scenario analysis.
9. Conduct sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of various business decisions on financial outcomes.
10. Develop a deep understanding of how the business operates and how financial and operational decisions impact performance.
11. Make recommendations based on financial data and analysis.
12. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making.
13. Perform detailed analyses of actual financial results against budget and forecast.
14. Contribute to month-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
15. Assist in the preparation of financial reports, statements, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
16. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in a similar Financial Analyst/Finance Business Partnering role.
2. Positive and proactive personality with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
3. Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or Finalist.
4. Ability to present complex financials in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.
5. Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
6. Proactive, effective communicator, influencer of change, strong problem solver, and excellent organisational skills.
7. Motivated self-starter with the desire to progress alongside an ambitious company.
