H & S Officer, part-time, Salary up to £50K pro-rata 3-4 days a week, on site at Whetstone
Our client is looking for a part-time H&S Officer, must be familiar with risk assessments, environmental, ESG etc.
Responsibilities:
1. Work in conjunction with the Site Leader & Senior Leadership team to maintain and advise on health and safety legislation through leadership activities to promote and improve a positive health and safety culture.
2. Ensure strict adherence to EHS Environmental Health & Safety Workplace Incident Prevention Policy.
3. Provide a safe and healthy working environment for employees and all those working on our behalf, striving for zero workplace incidents.
4. Minimize the environmental impact of operations, manage energy usage, and reduce waste and emissions.
5. Comply with applicable EHS laws and regulations and internal IDEX policies, procedures, and standards.
6. Assess EHS risks associated with operations and implement methods to mitigate or avoid those risks.
7. Actively seek employee input and participation in the management of EHS to prevent workplace accidents and injuries, including providing EHS training and recognizing best practices.
8. Integrate EHS priorities into standard business practices and processes.
9. Drive change through continuous improvement, including setting goals and measuring performance.
What You’ll Need:
1. Management and leadership of a diverse team and processes through a matrix system.

4. Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
5. Ability to facilitate presentations before management groups.
What You’ll Have:
1. Degree in a suitable transferable discipline.
2. Management or leadership qualification preferred.
3. PRINCE2 or similar project management qualification preferred.
4. 5 years relevant experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Promote and work with managers to determine safe working practices, ensuring all service areas have suitable and sufficient risk assessments and effective risk control measures stored on the Safety Organiser.
2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and new legislative requirements relating to health and safety issues, interpreting, evaluating, and advising management on implications for service delivery.
3. Undertake planned health and safety audits and workplace inspections, including ad-hoc site visits, and provide reports on compliance and necessary remedial actions.
4. Liaise with the HR team and Managers regarding specialist risk assessments and training needs.
5. Ensure accurate and timely administration of the Health and Safety service.
6. Maintain, review, and revise first-aid arrangements, organizing training as necessary.
7. Coordinate quarterly Site Health and Safety Committee meetings and provide advice and support to the Committee.
8. Support, advise, and facilitate training on health and safety responsibilities for employers and employees.
9. Investigate all incidents and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
10. Ensure alignment with ESG legislation and standards, including quarterly visits to Holland.
11. Maintain and disseminate Employee and Site protection registers.
12. Coordinate and administer programmes for Health Surveillance and Screening.
13. Provide direct input in emergencies and assist with Emergency Planning functions.
14. Coordinate Safety Advisory Group meetings and provide advice to event organisers.
15. Carry out any other duties within the scope of the post as requested by the line manager or Head of Service.
