Regional Compliance Support Officer - Northeast/Northwest England & Scotland

We are looking for a brand-new Regional Compliance Support Officer to join the ever-growing team!
REPORTING TO: Safer Gambling Compliance Manager
JOB FUNCTION: To provide support to the Operational and Safer Gambling departments to ensure compliance with regulatory and safer gambling policies and legislation. The role will provide support, guidance, and be the subject matter expert for venue teams. They will assist in implementing and embedding these policies and processes within the operation, ultimately promoting a safe and responsible gaming environment.
To provide support in a business partner capacity to operations within the region they support, in relation to the following key areas:
1. Perform analysis and produce reports on venue compliance
2. Review and evaluation of Safer Gambling practices
3. Identify and communicate shortfalls in Safer Gambling Interactions, age verification and incident reporting
4. Provide training and support to venue teams
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY TASKS
1. To promote awareness of Safer Gambling strategies and procedures.
2. Conduct checks that align with our internal audit program.
3. Oversight and support for operations to ensure compliance with Regulatory and LCCP obligations, covering ordinary and SR code compliance, AML requirements and Licensing regulation.
4. Responsible for ensuring venues within their region have updated Local Area Risk Assessments.
5. Supporting with customer complaints. Engagement with local authority compliance officers.
6. Marketing oversight in venue, ensuring the correct Safer Gambling messaging is promoted within our venues.
7. Regularly observe venue practices during trading hours, paying close attention to team interactions with customers, and provide constructive feedback based on observations.
8. Ensure that employees in venues are adequately trained and fully aware of their responsibilities.
9. This includes identifying any knowledge gaps and conducting training needs analysis as necessary.
10. Keeping abreast of Industry Safer Gambling initiatives and changes in legislation, understanding and benchmarking of best practice with the aim of continuously raising standards and expertise.
11. Monitoring and evaluation of Safer Gambling practices.
12. Deliver constructive feedback to stakeholders regarding the necessary safer gambling action points.
13. Attend Compliance & Risk Committee Meetings as required.
14. Produce the required reports, providing relevant data understanding trends/risks within the operation.
REQUIRED SKILLS
1. Proven history of working in a training role, preferably in a Gambling environment.
2. Comprehensive knowledge of UK Gambling Compliance, Safer Gambling and Licence Conditions & Codes of Practice (LCCP).
3. Ability to resource information from external sources and awareness of Safer Gambling best practices
4. Knowledge of customer KYC and Due Diligence processes.
5. Strong Communication skills – verbally and written.
6. A good understanding of operational areas of a gambling business.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills with proven presentation skills.
8. Self-motivated and able to work independently.
9. Good time management skills and the ability to efficiently achieve deadlines.
10. Good attention to detail.
11. Flexible and able to stay away from home for prolonged periods and at short notice as required by the business.

Responsible for understanding and ensuring compliance with internal Responsible Gambling policies and UK Gambling Commission Licence Codes of Conduct and Practice (LCCP):

1. Preventing gambling from being a source of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder or being used to support crime.
2. Ensuring that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way.
3. Protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling.
1. To promote awareness of Responsible Gambling strategies and procedures.
2. Ensuring Responsible Gambling is an integral part of the daily operation.
3. To actively participate and support the annual National Responsible Gambling Week.
4. To be proactive in safeguarding our customers and the business by ensuring that standards of compliance both internally and externally are delivered to the highest level and opportunities to improve are identified to support the business objectives.
In keeping with accepted principles of good Company practice, you may be required to undertake additional or alternative duties related to your position as directed from time to time by your Line Manager.
