An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Midwife to join NHS Borders maternity service. We are a small team providing midwifery/consultant led care, with approximately 900 deliveries per year. We aim to provide family-centred maternity care to women and families within the Borders, focusing on the principles of Best Start.
Within this role, you will work across Labour Ward, Ward 16 (antenatal/postnatal), and Community settings, providing family-centred care and supporting the operation of the service with a clear focus on the principles of Best Start.
The Borders is a beautiful place to work, live, and play, offering outdoor activities within its stunning countryside and excellent transport links across Scotland and the border. The maternity team benefits from the support of a small, close-knit team and enjoys various organized social activities.

NHS Scotland is reducing the full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours starting 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will be applied pro-rata for part-time staff. The advert and subsequent employment contracts reflect the new hours. Some service areas may require working up to an additional 30 minutes per week temporarily, until roster adjustments are made.
