Job Title: CNC Grinder Setter Job type: Late shift, Permanent Hours: 14:45 – 00:00 Mon-Thurs Location: Aldershot Pay: £35,000 - £40,000 DOE (Inc shift allowance) Main Purpose of Job: The role will involve operating various machines to produce conforming product. Aid the set up and preparation of materials and tooling for upcoming jobs, working from engineering drawings to produce precision spec components for clients in the aerospace and automotive industry. Key responsibilities: ⦁ Set up and operate grinding machines, ensuring proper preparation for grinding operations. ⦁ Adjust machine settings efficiently when transitioning between jobs within specified timeframes. ⦁ Perform grinding, deburring, and polishing to achieve required shapes and dimensions as per design specifications. ⦁ Read and interpret technical drawings accurately. ⦁ Adjust machine parameters and tooling to meet dimensional and output requirements. ⦁ Utilize precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers and verniers, to verify work against drawings and validation sheets. ⦁ Apply appropriate deburring techniques in line with design specifications. ⦁ Operate multiple machines when component and batch sizes permit. ⦁ Ensure production targets are met by conducting in-process inspections and verifying components against drawings and specifications. ⦁ Address technical queries as needed. ⦁ Collaborate with colleagues and support other tasks as necessary to maintain smooth company operations. ⦁ Adhere to company quality systems, processes, and standards. ⦁ Maintain punctuality and reliability in all work responsibilities. ⦁ Report any issues to the Manager or Supervisor promptly. ⦁ Comply with company health and safety regulations at all times. Skills and Qualifications/experience: ⦁ 3 – 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar industry/role. ⦁ The ability to use a range of measuring equipment. ⦁ Good math and technical skills. ⦁ Knowledge and experience of systematic problem solving. ⦁ Be proactive and a great team player. ⦁ To be a quick learner and adaptable to change. ⦁ Have excellent attention to detail. ⦁ Be able to work effectively and efficiently to meet target deadlines.
