EHC Technician
In a self-directed work environment, the EHS Coordinator will serve the following role:
Provide support, leadership, and/or facilitation to employees and teams at all levels in the successful implementation and execution of Environmental Health and Safety programs throughout the facility. Responsibilities:
* Assist with the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health) and utilize Eaton EHS tools to drive improvements in safety, health, waste, water, energy, GHG & security.
* Support risk assessment at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects associated waste, water, energy, GHG & security.
* Track appropriate leading and lagging indicators in waste, water, energy, GHG & security.
* Promote a zero incident EHS culture throughout the facility.
* Engage through teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year associated with waste, water, energy, GHG & security.
* Work with EHS leader and safety champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations.
* Support efforts for third-party recognition for programs that establish the site & Eaton's EHS program as world class.
* Lead and support wider internal and external site EHS teams when required.
* Support incident investigations.
* Provide support on using established EHS data processes and systems to manage data.
* Create training matrices and lead training sessions to ensure that all training is defined, completed, and tracked in accordance with an annual plan.
* Ensure and track that all key EHS operational controls are in place, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.
* Provide innovative solutions that support operational constraints while ensuring employee safety and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications Required:
* NVQ L5 Health & Safety or NEBOSH CERT or EHS related degree.
* Ideally, the candidate will hold (Tech/Grad/Chartered IOSH status) or the ability to achieve.
Skills:
Experience Required:
* Experience in a similar EHS role/position.
* Previous experience gained from working in one or more of the following: engineering, large-scale manufacturing/construction/utilities sector/process safety equipment/heavy engineering/machinery driven environments.
* Experience working within Corporate Management Systems or large-scale company-wide systems for reporting EHS data/information.
* Previous experience of conducting training to multiple target audiences.
* Proven experience in both the inception and implementation of EHS improvement projects.
* Experience of working with ISO14001 and ISO18001.
