Job Description
Working in collaboration with the Transport Manager, the Transport Coordinator will be responsible for the day to day operation of the site and driver workforce.
Salary: £27,141 per annum
Shift: 4 on 4 off, 18:00 - 06:00
Key Duties of a Transport Coordinator:
1. Delivery of the organisational requirements relating to drivers, depot and yard staff.
2. Attendance and coordination of first line HR matters relating to depot and driver workforce in conjunction with Transport Manager.
3. Standards of maintenance of company assets and the depot are delivered.
4. Support to the Transport Manager in delivering continuous improvement initiatives through effective data analysis and communication.
5. Take ownership for identifying issues and seeks to provide resolutions.
6. Report Vehicle/Trailer defects and escalating to the fleet department and relevant stakeholders.
7. Completing daily risk assessments of yard and office.
8. Ensure legal compliance by keeping tracker of working time directive for the driver workforce.
9. Coordinating CPC driver records.
10. Ensure customer demand is met by proactively managing driver resource vs vehicle requirements.
11. Upkeep of vehicle allocation.
12. Process staff absence.
13. Process new starter and leaver information, Driver holiday request submissions.
14. Assisting Transport Manager with interview process for drivers.
15. Ensuring all personnel files are up to date.
16. Management of driver expenses.
Qualifications
1. Proven track record within the Transport and Logistics Industry.
2. Understanding of Tachograph legislation and EU Drivers House and WTD Legislation.
3. Strong IT Skills with particular experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and ideally have an understanding of transport in-house systems, like Microlise and GTS.
4. Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines.
