Fit Out Estimator
Our Client, a well-established and reputable Mechanical & Electrical building services company, has an excellent client and sub-contractor reputation. The office is located in Medway and offers a detailed service to recognised and repeat customers throughout London & the South East of England.
At this time, they are seeking to recruit an experienced Fit Out Estimator who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, a good team player but equally able to work on their own initiative.
Package: £55 - £65 depending on experience and qualifications
Job Role/Responsibilities
1. Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bid estimates.
2. Review issued specifications, drawings and other relevant documents, issuing tender clarifications and updates to the respective clients.
3. Communicate with client and customer base, ensuring all requirements are met/mitigated to their satisfaction.
4. Onsite liaison with client/customer undertaking the relevant site survey and review.
5. Evaluate potential project risk on both commercial and deliverable aspects.
6. Produce and deliver accurate Fit Out and specialist estimates in-line with specifications and industry requirements.
7. Gather, analyse, and adjust data related to labour, materials, equipment, and other factors affecting cost estimates.
8. Ensure tender submissions are comprehensively reviewed and qualified correctly.
9. Determine type, quantity, and cost of materials and fixtures needed for each project.
10. Regularly review & evolve the company's estimating documentation to ensure it is up to date with rates.
11. Conduct bi-weekly team meetings and prepare tender reports.
12. Generate and issue handover documentation for secured projects ahead of meetings with the projects team.
Skills Needed
1. Time Served Engineer
2. Proven time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
3. Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
4. Ability to quickly assess requirements and adapt based on provided information
5. Self-starter with the ability to operate and communicate effectively at all levels (from Site Level to Senior Management)
6. Knowledge of direct labour resources and associated labour costings
7. Experience in presenting tenders to clients
8. Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office package (Excel/Word & Outlook)
9. Strong understanding of both the residential and commercial construction sectors
10. Ability to read tender specifications, drawings and produce detailed pricing cost plans
11. Ability to self-manage time and workloads and multitask various projects sequentially
12. Experience in a similar position
13. Ability to liaise and converse with clients in a professional manner
