Job Description
As the Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for:
1. Efficient, timely and accurate reconciliation of the ledger control accounts, investigating in depth and resolving any items not reconciled as part of the normal process to achieve a clear account by month end deadlines.
2. Liaising internally and with external stakeholders/suppliers to understand and resolve outstanding items and ensure they do not reoccur.
3. Raising invoices where necessary to clear the accounts.
4. Participating in and being a part of the Transaction Processing team, working closely with colleagues to cover for them during holidays and other absences.
5. Assisting the Transaction Processing Manager and transformation experts in capitalising on the systems and knowledge available in developing and implementing a standard documented set of transaction processing processes across the whole business.
The Successful Applicant
To be successful for the Accounts Assistant position, you must:
1. Have previous experience in Sales Ledger and a reconciliation role (desirable).
2. Demonstrate experience of good customer service, including building relationships with employees and external stakeholders/suppliers.
3. Have previous experience with computerised accounting systems (essential), preferably SAP.
4. Be experienced in working from spreadsheets and within the automated Finance ledger system to review and reconcile transactions processed within the team (essential).
5. Possess the ability to work as part of a team and to meet deadlines in a changing environment while ensuring attention to detail and quality of work.
