Production Shift Manager - late shift

Location: Gateshead
Salary: £36,155 per year + 20% shift allowance for full shift
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours a week (Monday-Friday 15:00-22:30)

Main responsibilities will include:
* To manage Braille, Audio and Large Print workflows within the team, planning resources into work schedules and supporting the Volume Production Manager in all aspects of work.
* Coordinating operations, delegating tasks to team members, and resolving problems that occur on shift.
* Co-ordinate and run bespoke machines and equipment to capacity.
* Ensuring that employees are correctly trained in order to operate machinery and that staff understand safety procedures.
* To liaise with day shift and Volume Production Manager to ensure successful delivery of priorities.
* Reporting and logging operational risks and taking actions where necessary.
* Reporting and logging faulty machinery in a timely manner.
* Ensure that all production staff receive yearly appraisals with a view to identifying opportunities for staff to undertake relevant training and development in liaison with HR. Maintain all staff records and company procedures, including, but not limited to, absence management documentation, holiday
Skills required:
* Experience of working in a print production environment.
* Experience of managing the day-to-day prioritisation of work flows
* Knowledge of effective and efficient work processes and prioritisation techniques and skills.
* Knowledge of print and enclosing equipment.
* Knowledge of print production lines.
