Project Sustainability Advisor - York/Leeds/Warrington (Flexible)
We are seeking a Project Sustainability Advisor to join our sustainability team who will have responsibility for providing detailed support to our Civil Engineering projects in the north of England (including in Sheffield, Leeds, York and North Yorkshire).
In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability in the construction of our projects in addition to helping deliver against our 2030 Sustainability Roadmap.
The aim of this role is to improve our sustainability and environmental performance by working closely with our project teams and to replicate best practice identified across our portfolio of projects, in addition to assisting project teams with the application for, completion and implementation of environmental consents to ensure legal and client requirements are met.

Key responsibilities
1. Provide sustainability and environmental advice to project teams including delivery of appropriate training
2. Conduct site inspections, maintain environmental compliance and provide assistance with external audits and the application for, completion and implementation of environmental consents and permits
3. Identify and communicate environmental and sustainability risks and opportunities on our projects
4. Assist in the development and preparation of sustainability management reports for internal and client reporting
5. Assist in the maintenance and review of the sustainability management system
6. Assist in providing sustainability input to tenders and project mobilisation
7. Participate in working groups and initiatives to help deliver against our 2030 Sustainability Roadmap
Knowledge, experience and qualifications
The Project Sustainability Advisor will have:
8. Up to 3 years environmental experience ideally with some understanding of a construction environment or similar
9. Relevant degree and / or professional qualification
10. Strong organisational, communication, influencing and engagement skills with ability to problem solve
11. Flexibility to travel in the north of the UK
In addition, affiliate IEMA membership or above, internal environmental auditor and / or incident investigation training would be desirable.
