Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Mentor to join our team. As a Youth Mentor, you will play a crucial role in providing guidance, support, and education to young individuals. Your primary responsibility will be to mentor and assist youth in various aspects of their lives, including academics, personal development, and social skills.
Duties:
1. Develop and implement individualized mentoring plans for each youth
2. Provide educational support and assistance with homework assignments
3. Foster positive relationships with youth and serve as a role model
4. Conduct regular check-ins and meetings with youth to monitor progress
5. Assist with the development of life skills, such as goal-setting and decision-making
6. Organize and facilitate group activities and workshops
7. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure the holistic development of youth
8. Maintain accurate records of mentoring sessions and progress
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred
2. Previous experience working with children or youth in a mentoring or educational capacity
3. Knowledge of special education principles and practices is a plus
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trust with youth
6. Ability to adapt to different learning styles and individual needs
7. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
