Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Transport Planner role located in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire at HSP Couriers LTD. The Transport Planner will be responsible for planning and managing transportation operations, communicating with stakeholders, utilising bespoke software systems, and overseeing transportation management on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities within the role are:
Allocation of work to couriers and own drivers in a fair and transparent manner.
Taking bookings accurately and advising clients of our services.
Implementing and maintaining Service Level Agreements.
Proactively keeping clients and fellow employees informed of any delays or issues.
Ensure your fleet size is sufficient to service your clients particularly during peak periods – maintain levels and recruit drivers when required.
Monitoring of jobs through to POD and completion.
Any other duties instructed by Transport Manager or Directors
Ensure drivers achieve maximum revenue.
Seek backloads for drivers.
Responsible for particular accounts.

Managing and exceeding customer expectations.
Ability to communicate clearly with clients, couriers and suppliers and always remain professional.
Be highly organised.
Previous controlling experience.
Good geographical knowledge.
Excellent punctuality and attendance
Previous transport industry experience.
Acting on your own initiative without constant supervision.
Computer literate.
Hours will be between 8am & 5pm Monday to Friday
You will be expected to have the out of hours phone on a Rota basis including weekends. The Rota is 1 week on and 2 weeks off, this will only commence once fully implemented into our company, until that point the on call will be managed as it is currently, by the existing team.
