The Opportunity: We are currently recruiting a Unmanned Area Vehicle (UAV) Operator to join our Survey & UAV department based out of Watford, North London. This position exercises considerable latitude in overseeing UAV ground and flight operations efforts including mission planning, execution and briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management and ground & flight safety. The ideal candidate will have a background in engineering, construction or surveying with a keen interest/previous experience in the Operation of UAV’s. What will I be doing in my new role? Detailed aerial topographical surveys and building inspections using the latest drone and photogrammetry technology. Operating drones, aerial photography and videography Survey data processing from raw data to point cloud models Instruct and help other UAV pilots in ground and flight operations Plan, organise, and execute flight plans with project management team Ensure compliance with CAA and all other airspace regulations. Conduct demonstrations and participate in operational and experimental ground and flight testing of assigned UAV(s). Maintain flight logs, aircraft maintenance and shift reports as part of your role. Land surveying (training available) during periods when weather does not permit flying Any other duties as required by the business. Requirements of the role: Extensive commercial UAV flying experience (evidence required) Current CAA GVC certification and recent UAV flying hours Computer processing software experience developing aerial data (Pix4d/Agisoft) Ability to work outdoors under various temperatures and weather conditions. Large Scale UAV operations experience (desired but not essential). Knowledge of UK airspace regulations with respect to UAVs Experience in aerial surveying, spatial data capture and post-processing (desired but not essential). Flexibility to travel nationwide as required by our clients. Full clean UK/EU manual driving license Visa/Right to work in the UK. What key attributes do I need?
