Tasks and Qualifications:
Working for a globally recognised customer, the role demands the dedication and professionalism Dematic Customer Services is synonymous for in the industry. As a Deputy Shift Manager you will be:
1. Supporting the shift manager in managing the shift team and providing cover for manager absence.
2. Beginning your management journey.
3. Maintaining, repairing and supporting the equipment detailed within the agreed Dematic scope of contract on the Customers site.
4. Primarily ensuring delivery to both Dematic and the Customer’s expectations with the aim of achieving KPI targets at all times.
5. Undertaking AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with the quality standards and time schedules as set out in the equipment manuals.
6. Undertaking scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices.
7. Diagnosing Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC / PC faults and subsequent repairs.
8. Prioritising system faults.
9. Compliance with Health & Safety legislation at all times.
10. Ensuring quality of output at all times.
11. Accurately recording all work undertaken.
12. Involvement in continuous improvement and enhancement opportunities.
13. Maintaining product flow at all times.
14. Ensuring on-site spares are kept to optimum levels.
15. Representing the company in a professional manner at all times and maintaining customer relations.
16. Adhering to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company.
Minimum Requirements:
1. ONC in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
2. IOSH working safely (desirable).
3. Experience in previously managing a team (desirable).
4. Foundation qualifications in people management (desirable).
5. Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship.
6. A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings.
7. Basic understanding of control systems and problem solving techniques.
8. Basic understanding of PLC equipment.
9. Working at height experience and willingness.
10. Previous experience of working with various conveyor systems.
11. Good level of PC literacy.
12. Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules.
13. Working knowledge of FEM and BS standards governing the automated warehouse industry.
14. Have a continuous improvement mentality.
