About the role:
A full-time vacancy has arisen for a Control Room Operator working at the University of Central Lancashire’s Preston campus. The post holder will be required to work 2x 12 hour days, followed by 2x 12 hour nights, followed by 4x rest periods on a rotating shift basis, with flexibility to work as requested by security management, including on other shifts/campuses if required.
About you:
We require the post holder to provide a high quality, customer focused service as part of a team, whilst putting students first and foremost to enhance the student experience. Applicants should be experienced in complying with relevant legislation and maintaining accurate and detailed records. The post holder also needs to be a good communicator with the ability to accurately prioritise issues and incidents, whilst maintaining confidentiality. The position requires a self-motivated individual who can remain calm under pressure and is experienced in de-escalating situations. The role requires the use of various IT and security equipment. English and Maths GCSE or equivalent are essential requirements and previous employment in a security or CCTV setting is desirable.
We are therefore looking for candidates who have the ability to learn and adapt to changes in procedures and technology, with good observation skills, high levels of concentration and keen attention to detail.
