IT Support Engineer
5 days onsite / Driving license required
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused IT Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide onsite IT support to a variety of customer sites in Maidenhead and the surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide first and second-line IT support, troubleshooting a wide range of technical issues onsite.
2. Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network systems.
3. Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring excellent customer service and clear communication with clients.
4. Identify and resolve technical issues promptly, escalating to higher-level support teams when necessary.
5. Conduct routine maintenance, system updates, and preventive measures to ensure system reliability.
6. Collaborate with team members and customers to recommend IT improvements and solutions.
7. Maintain detailed documentation of work, including issue tracking and resolution notes.
Skills and Experience:
1. Proven experience in an IT support role, preferably with onsite support experience.
2. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS, Office 365, Active Directory, and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
3. Familiarity with hardware diagnostics and repair (PCs, laptops, printers, and peripherals).
4. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues across various technologies.
5. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
6. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
7. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for traveling between customer sites.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, AZ-900, Microsoft Fundamentals, Google Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or similar are advantageous.
2. Experience supporting Mac OS, cloud technologies, or virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
