YOUR NEW ROLE
As a Trainee Insurance Technician, you will join the Technical Service team assisting in processing a mixture of Energy and Construction/Specialty Lines accounts. Under direct supervision you will be responsible for processing technical documentation related to all -Pre-inception and Post-Placement activities including, evidence of cover, processing premium, bureaux submissions, credit control, file and record management and provide general technical support to the wider team. You assist with client correspondence (liaising with underwriters and clients when/if required) to ensure documentation is processed/maintained that meets the needs of the client and conforms to company quality standards.
Technical Services is a highly professional and vitally important team within UIB, providing exceptional service to external and internal stakeholders. The team consists of many highly experienced individuals focusing on several lines of business ranging from Aviation and Marine to Proportional Treaty and Non-Proportional Treaty. The team are responsible for providing the delivery of all post-bind processing, which includes risk and premium processing, issuance of client documentation, submission of documentation to the London Market bureaux, liaison with brokers, monitoring of paid and unpaid premiums and electronic filing of documentation. The team also utilise Tableau daily to monitor workflow, ensuring key performance indicators are met.
This is a great entry level role for someone who is eager to learn through on the job training and progress their career within insurance.

ABOUT YOU
* Good academic background
* Interest in insurance
* Previous experience in insurance or customer facing role (an advantage)
* Excellent communication and written skills
* Ability to relay and ensure understanding of critical information
* Process driven (able to achieve deadlines)
* Highly accurate and detail orientated
* Enthusiastic with a desire to learn new skills
* Good IT literacy skills (Word, Outlook and Excel)
