Finance Business Partner – London/Hybrid £480 a day (Umbrella) A Central London Local Authority is seeking a skilled Finance Business Partner to provide financial oversight and commercial expertise to support the council’s Environment service. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical financial advice, briefing papers, and tailored training for diverse audiences. Deliver financial and commercial insights on high-profile projects, programmes, and capital projects. Support the closure of accounts, ensuring accurate income and expenditure reporting, reconciling balance sheet items, and completing reserve drawdowns and accruals. Assist service and budget managers in budget development and monthly financial monitoring. Analyse, prepare, and review key commercial documents, including project agreements, payment mechanisms, and procurement tenders. Experience & Requirements: A full CCAB/CIMA (or overseas equivalent) qualification with relevant financial management experience. A strong understanding of the financial challenges facing local authorities. Advanced Excel skills with proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis. Experience in strategic financial planning and budget-setting techniques. Excellent communication, presentation, and business partnering skills, with a commitment to equality and diversity. Previous experience as a Finance Business Partner within local government. Experience managing a significant organisational function or service in a large, multi-disciplined organisation with comparable scope, budgets, and resources.
