We are looking for a Project Manager for a 12 Month contract based in Derby on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.
Job description - the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to join our client's Civil Aerospace division in Derby. This role focuses primarily on the Project Management aspect within our Supply Chain and Procurement teams. You will lead complex projects that are crucial to operations, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards
As a Project Manager you will be responsible for:
* Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, resources, and budget. Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring alignment with objectives and timely delivery.
* Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and cross-functional teams, to ensure project requirements are clearly defined and met. Maintain strong communication channels throughout the project lifecycle.
* Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues related to project delivery and implement effective mitigation strategies. Proactively address challenges to minimize impact on project success.
* Performance Monitoring: Track project progress against established milestones and KPIs. Use project management tools and methodologies to ensure adherence to schedules and budgets.
* Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements and implement best practices within Project Management and Supply Chain processes. Foster a culture of innovation and efficiency.
* Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present regular project updates, reports, and documentation to senior management and other stakeholders.
What we require from the candidate:
* Experience: Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in a supply chain, procurement, or aerospace environment. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams.
* Certifications: APM qualifications are highly desirable. Primavera P6 certification is also a plus.
* Experience with APQP and PPAP, including managing product validation, supplier development, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Skills: Strong project management skills, including expertise in planning, execution, and risk management. Proficiency with project management tools and software.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse teams and stakeholders.
* Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
* Domain Knowledge: Knowledge of Aerospace Supply Chain and Procurement processes is advantageous.
