We have an exciting opportunity for a Therapist Assistant to join our team at Moorland ICRS, based at HMP YOI Moorland. HMP YOI Moorland is a category C men's prison and Young Offenders Institution based in Hatfield, South Yorkshire.
The site offers a range of healthcare services including Physical Health, Mental Health, Pharmacy and Substance Misuse. The 9-bed specialist Intermediate Care & Reablement Service opened in early 2022 based at HMP Moorland.
This fantastic opportunity is to assist both the Occupational Therapist and the Physiotherapist here onsite, helping patients with their treatment journey.
No NVQ is necessary - we will support you to achieve this!
Hours
This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week, usually Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00 / 09:00 - 17:00.
Salary
You'll receive an annual salary up to £28,690 per annum depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As our new Therapist Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
* Working closely with both the Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist - coordinating activities with patients, helping with wellbeing clinics and initiatives, and being a key part of the treatment journey!
* Being involved in the implementation of treatment programmes and environmental assessments, including the demonstration and fitting of disability equipment for patients.
* Providing a range of therapy and treatment interventions that aid patients to fulfil their daily activities, and support social care support workers as necessary.
* Supporting the social care team in implementing agreed care plans, in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received, whilst promoting safe patient well-being.

* Have experience within a care environment - ideally with exposure to occupational health or physiotherapy
* Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
* Ideally hold an NVQ in Health & Social Care, or equivalent - this isn't essential!

* Must have a willingness to undertake training in Mental Health Awareness, suicide prevention, self-harm and ACCT procedures
