Job Summary:
John Charles Search is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of storage equipment installations, including mezzanine floors, pallet racking, shelving, and cantilever racking. The role requires managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse storage solutions, experience in project and contract management, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful Project Manager will be responsible for:
* Overseeing and coordinating multiple warehouse storage projects from handover to completion.
* Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
* Conducting site surveys, planning, and preparing detailed installation drawings.
* Managing procurement of materials, labour, and plant resources.
* Coordinating and scheduling multiple contractors and preparing programs of work.
* Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, including acting as the principal contractor under CDM regulations when required.
* Conducting site inspections and monitoring project progress.
* Liaising with customers and conducting site progress meetings.
* Managing project finances, ensuring invoices are submitted and funds are received at appropriate milestones.
* Handling risk management and resolving any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
* Providing regular reports to senior management on project status, challenges, and successes.
Requirements:
The successful Project Manager will have:
* Previous experience managing warehouse storage installation projects (racking, shelving, mezzanines, etc.).
* Strong project and contract management skills.
* A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a "can-do" attitude.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
* The ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
* A strong understanding of health and safety regulations, including CDM compliance.
* A full UK driving license and willingness to travel and work away when required.
* Experience liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver projects effectively.
* Knowledge of industry sectors such as warehousing, logistics, e-commerce, and manufacturing.
* Experience with AutoCAD for layout design and Microsoft Office applications (desirable).
