Experienced Veterinary Surgeon Wanted

About the Practice: You will be joining a dedicated team consisting of:
1. 2 full-time vets
2. 4 RVNs (Registered Veterinary Nurses)
3. 1 VCA (Veterinary Care Assistant)
4. 1 practice manager/practice owner
5. 4 receptionists
Several team members have been with the practice for over five years, with one having been a part of the team since the clinic opened its doors in 2016. The practice is also supported by a wider network of two off-site clinical owners and four sister surgeries, boasting a collective 21 vets. While they encourage collaboration, your role will be based permanently at one site.
With an active client base of around 3,000, with a high surgical load, making this a perfect fit for a veterinary surgeon who enjoys a balance between consulting and surgery.
They offer:
* 40 hours/week: 4 weekdays (finishing at 19:00) and 1 in 3 Saturdays (finishing at 18:00)
* No OOH or on-call
* Work-life balance:
o 1 weekday off per week
o Full annual rota planned in advance
o No Sunday work
o Most lunch breaks and end-of-day finishes are on time
* Surgical opportunities: Minimum 3 mornings of surgery per week
* Consulting: 15 and 30-minute appointments
* Diverse caseload: 67% canine, 27% feline, and less than 6% rabbit/exotic patients
* Regular vet meetings and admin time throughout the day

About You: They’re seeking a dedicated small animal vet with excellent consulting skills and experience in surgery. You will have access to cutting-edge equipment, including endoscopes, ultrasound, ECG, laser, blood machines, and Tonopen. Whether you're seeking full-time (4-day week) or part-time, they are happy to discuss flexible options.
Location: The practice is in a single-site role within a 5-practice group, easily commutable from Portsmouth, Chichester, Fareham, and Southampton.
