Job Title: Full-Time Teaching Assistant Location: Barry, Vale of Glamorgan Start Date: February 2025 Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (with potential for permanent contract until July 2025) Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Barry, starting in February 2025. In this role, you will working on a 1:1 basis with a student in the Foundation Phase, providing tailored support to meet their individual learning needs and working alongisde the teacher. You wil be joining a supportive team of teachers and teaching assistants that all work collaboratively as a team. Key Responsibilities: Support as a general teaching assistant and 1:1 support in Foundation Phase class, helping with academic and social development. Assist in the delivery of lessons and provide additional support to ensure students are fully engaged in classroom activities. Provide a positive and supportive learning environment. Work closely with the class teacher to monitor progress and implement tailored learning strategies. Assist in the preparation of resources and materials for lessons. Help manage classroom behavior and promote positive social interactions. The Successful Candidate Will: Have experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting or relevant experience. Be patient, understanding, and adaptable, with the ability to form strong, supportive relationships with children, staff and parents. Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Reliable and committed to the role. Hold or be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check and register for the Education Workforce Council (EWC). Desirable Qualifications and Experience: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent). Experience working with children with additional learning needs (ALN) would be beneficial.
