Rapid Assessment Worker

£14.21 per hour
3 month fixed term contract
3 days per week (Mon-Fri: 10am-6pm)
This role is based in our client based in Croydon which is a ten-bed rapid assessment unit for customers referred to them.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Hold a caseload of key clients and conduct regular key working sessions resulting in agreed Support Plans.
2. Complete comprehensive risk and needs assessments and HB applications.
3. Work with service users to identify their strengths and goals through an asset-based approach to support.
4. Support service users to identify positive move on options and live more independent lives.
5. Establish supportive and professional relationships with customers and deal effectively with unpredictable and challenging situations in a professional and sensitive manner.
6. Carry out regular Health and Safety inspections.
7. Support service users to pay their rent, including providing advice on benefits and debt management.
8. Ensure all voids are advertised and lettings made promptly.
9. Support and advise customers on any matters relating to their occupancy agreements.
10. Respond proactively to maintenance issues.
11. Remove items, clean and make rooms ready for new occupants, where required.
12. Keep timely and accurate records including customer files, monitoring information etc.
13. Complete SNAP forms.
Experience and Qualifications:
1. Experience of supporting vulnerable people (adults or young adults as per the needs of the specific project) to achieve independent living.
Knowledge:
1. An understanding of the reasons why people become homeless and the needs and challenges they face.
2. Knowledge of safeguarding issues and how they apply in day-to-day work.
3. Knowledge of statutory and voluntary resources available to homeless people including an understanding of welfare benefits.
