Position Overview The Investment Operations Vice President will manage transaction execution for the infrastructure and real assets (“SIRA”) asset class, driving proactive communications with the SIRA deal teams (principally the SIRA secondary and co-investment deal teams), SIRA client account management teams, SIRA legal team, SIRA operations team, and other enterprise services teams including across corporate legal, tax, compliance, fund accounting, investor services, performance and analytics reporting, and data science and engineering. The velocity of transaction closings and speed of communication requires the person in this position to process information quickly and precisely with frequent reprioritizations to manage efficient, coordinated execution. This role will also be responsible for driving adherence to the Firm’s transaction allocation policy with standardized documented support for all allocation decisions. Staff management and development will be required by this role. This role will be hands-on and entrepreneurial as it is supporting new dedicated service offerings to stakeholders across the business. The right candidate will be execution oriented, hyper organized and will communicate clearly and frequently as speed and scale will be necessary to drive successful operations across the platform. Essential Job Functions: Lead end-to-end SIRA transaction execution and settlement processes with deal teams, client account management team, SIRA legal team, SIRA operations team, and other enterprise services teams (including corporate legal, tax, compliance, fund accounting, investor services, performance and analytics reporting, and data science and engineering) Collaborate with other Investment Operations team members to help design and promote harmonized, scalable deal closing processes across asset classes and strategies Monitor SIRA deal pipeline meetings across SIRA strategies and prompt proactive communications with deal teams of teams to capture live information, including in StepStone’s proprietary technology platform, SPI Contribute to shared consciousness initiative through continuous aggregation, tracking and distribution of transaction information, including through SPI Proactively collate final legal transaction closing packages for centralized records and ensure dissemination to relevant internal stakeholders promptly for centralized record keeping and to assist with smoothing out transaction settlements, reporting etc Coordinate with enterprise services teams to operationalize transaction structuring and SPVs (includes creation of structure charts, obtaining EINs, collating legal documentation, and ensuring bank accounts are opened quickly) Oversee the transaction allocation process for SIRA deals in line the Firm’s allocation policy and the practice of other asset classes and strategies and ensure all allocation decisions are appropriately documented in SPI Maintain inputs to StepStone’s allocation engine including any changes to StepStone’s capital under management (related to new fundraises, transfers, etc.) Manage transaction budgets in coordination with deal teams, client account management teams, SIRA legal team, SIRA operations team, tax team, and external advisers, and reconcile invoicing, including on the Firm’s legal e-billing platform (Simple Legal) Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to ensure any transaction regulatory and corporate governance processes (including with Luxembourg AIFM and boards) is completed in a timely manner Support special projects as assigned and needed Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field 7-15 years of private market industry experience in legal and fund operations and/or transaction management preferred Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Acute attention to accuracy and detail Strong time management, prioritization, and proactive communication skills in a global environment Adaptability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment with overlapping priorities and shifting deadlines Experience with Power BI, Excel, Power Pivot, and document management solutions Self-motivated, results oriented, highly organized and fearlessly persistent About us Working out of 26 offices in 15 countries, StepStone has a truly global viewpoint.
