About Us
Gigawatt Industries is a NERS-accredited Independent Connections Provider (ICP) specialising in electrical infrastructure and EV charge point installations. We collaborate closely with DNOs, IDNOs, local authorities, and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality utility connections efficiently and professionally.
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Utility Connections Coordinator to oversee the full design-to-adoption process and manage all administrative aspects of utility connections, Section 50 notices, and network adoption.
Role Overview
As a Utility Connections Coordinator, you will manage the full process from design approvals, DNO/IDNO adoption, Section 50 applications, and project coordination. You will ensure that stakeholders, including designers, DNOs, IDNOs, and local authorities, are aligned with the project schedule, and that all necessary approvals and documentation are completed on time.
This role requires an organised individual with a strong understanding of the design-to-adoption process, capable of coordinating projects effectively while keeping all stakeholders updated.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design Coordination & Approval
Liaise with appointed designers to ensure timely design approvals from the DNO/IDNO.
Track and manage design submissions, approvals, and modifications to ensure project schedules remain on track.
2. DNO & IDNO Adoption Process
Work closely with DNOs and IDNOs to coordinate the adoption process for electrical connections.
Ensure all administrative tasks related to adoption (e.g., legal and regulatory requirements) are completed accurately and efficiently.
3. Section 50 Notices & Local Authority Coordination
Submit and manage Section 50 notices to local councils, ensuring compliance with street works regulations.
Liaise with local authorities to ensure all permits align with the project schedule.
4. Project Coordination & Team Updates
Maintain clear communication with project managers, engineers, and external stakeholders regarding project progress.
Provide regular updates to the internal team on design progress, approvals, and adoption status.
5. Documentation & Compliance
Manage and track all paperwork, permits, and approvals throughout the connection process.
Ensure compliance with NERS, DNO, IDNO, and local authority requirements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
1. Experience:
Proven experience in coordinating electrical connections within an ICP, DNO, IDNO, or utility provider.
Strong knowledge of the design-to-adoption process for electricity connections.
Experience in managing Section 50 notices and liaising with local councils.
2. Skills & Competencies:
Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in computer utilisation, project tracking software.
3. Qualifications (Desirable):
NRSWA (New Roads & Street Works Act) knowledge or a similar compliance background.
Experience working with DNO/IDNO processes and regulations.
