THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity for an IT Support Technician to join our internal IT Department and play an essential role in the operation of our IT systems and infrastructure.
Working as a key part of the IT team, this role will have split responsibilities. A large part of this role will be supporting our SAP Support Analyst. The role of the IT Support Technician will take over the day-to-day SAP activities and user support.
This role will also include general service desk type activities, such as supporting users remotely and in person with technical issues, guiding them through systems configuration and troubleshooting, whilst aiming to resolve issues with efficiency.
This role will report to the UK Head of IDT and will have regular contact with colleagues from all functional areas of the UK business.
You will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, be an excellent problem solver and have a positive and solution orientated attitude.
MAIN OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide quick and effective assistance with defined IT systems.
2. Guide customers remotely and in person through systems configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
3. Prioritize customer satisfaction in all communications, escalating unresolved issues to the Head of IT
4. Work with the ATOS service desk as required to ensure problems are resolved quickly.
5. Represent Primetals Technologies Ltd with professionalism and integrity while helping to advance our company mission.
6. Monitor and respond to requests received via the IT mailbox in a timely manner.
7. Provide first line support for defined applications such as SAP.
8. Help internal customers with troubleshooting around hardware and applications.
9. Provide additional support across the IT team as required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Must have current UK Driving License, as well as the right to live and work in the UK.
The following are desirable requirements for the position:
25. Experience working as an IT help desk technician or in a similar IT support role.
26. Some IT support experience of systems such as Microsoft Office, SAP etc would be an advantage. Although training will be provided to the right candidate.
27. Experience troubleshooting hardware and software.
28. Passion for problem-solving and delivering good customer service.
29. Tech savvy, with experience working in a tech-related field.
30. Ability to diagnose and resolve a variety of technical issues.
31. Collaborative mindset, working within a small team we all help each other to support business demands.
