If so, we want YOU to join our team as an Occupational Therapist As an Occupational Therapist, you will carry out specialist assessments with each service user at the Langford Centre, a 76 bedded mental health hospital in bexhill on sea. Using the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) as a framework, you will develop and implement occupational therapy interventions, focusing on daily living and vocational skills, in consultation/conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team and particularly the Lead Occupational Therapist within the hospital. Your key responsibilities will include: To manage a caseload of in-patients with mental illness who have a forensic history and/or behaviours that challenge To carry out assessments of activities of daily living to determine a patients level of functioning Carrying out Occupational Therapy intervention with patients. Planning individual treatment programmes specific to their needs. To take responsibility for the planning, facilitation and evaluation of the group OT programme within the service To provide a consultative role in the planning and delivering of a ward-based activity programme To provide OT interventions which are ward-based and community-based, promoting social inclusion and recovery To evaluate OT treatment and ensure outcome measures are recorded To take on the role of vocational lead within the hospital To provide clinical and management supervision to the wider OT team and Technical Instructors To participate in stock taking/ordering of required items within OT department To develop a knowledge of the local community and resources provided for people with a severe mental illness You Will Need To: Be a registered Occupational Therapist with HCPC Have previous experience of working as an OT in mental health / forensic / hospital setting.
