We have a fantastic opportunity for a full time band 5 Sexual Health Nurse to join our team in our level 3 ALL EAST sexual health service, providing integrated sexual health. We are looking for a motivated and dynamic nurse who wish to pursue an exciting career in sexual and reproductive healthcare.
The post will be primarily based at the Ambrose King Centre at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel.
Main duties of the job
The Sexual Health Nurse post will provide training to enable the successful candidate to provide care for patients with sexual health and contraceptive needs, delivering treatments and vaccinations that have been prescribed or through the use of Patient Group Directions (PGDs). This will include the provision of HIV Pre Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and subdermal implant contraception. Training will also be provided in microscopy.
The post holder will also provide chaperoning, support and assistance for patients undergoing examination, treatments and procedures by Doctors and Nurse practitioners.

1. Registered Adult Nurse (Level 1)
2. Educated to 1st degree level
Desirable criteria
3. Teaching Qualification
4. Sexual health and/ or contraception experience
5. Sexual health and/ or contraception qualification

6. Ability to develop higher level clinical skills in the assessment, treatment and management of patients attending with sexual health and contraceptive needs
7. Highly developed communication skills
8. Demonstrates ability to build and maintain productive and positive relationships within the multi-disciplinary team
9. Computer and IT skills
10. Ability to perform microscopy
