The Faculty of Advocates is one of Scotland’s most ancient and prestigious organisations with a vibrant professional body of practising Advocates. The Subscribers Fee Administration Department deals with the administration of Member's fee income and pay-outs as well as the daily upkeep of the agent, contact and case information on the Lex case management system. The following vacancy has arisen:
Post: Feeing Systems Administrator - Fixed Term Contract 12 months (Maternity Cover)

Salary: Grade 4b: £26,079 - £31,399 per annum
(All new appointments will be made at the start of the salary scale)
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday: 9.00am – 5.00pm

The purpose of this job is to maintain and update the billing database on the Company Diary and Case Management System (LEX) and associated Advocate database on the accounts system. In addition, the post holder will perform fee related amendments in accordance with payment types as referred to in the Scheme for Accounting for and Recovery of Counsels fees.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain records using Advocate accounting & LEX case Management system.
* Process fee related amendments, encompassing all linked cases across nine stables.
* Maintain accurate billing contact preferences.
* Liaise and correspond with Agents, Solicitors, Advocates, Advocates Clerks, HMRC, Accountants, The Crown Office and the Scottish Legal Aid Board.
* Perform reconciliation processes and assist the cash team with fee amendments relating to payments on account.
* Provide assistance to the Management team by validating and checking Advocate payouts.
The successful candidate must have four National 4’s or National 5’s (or equivalent), including Maths and English. Numeracy and communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, attention to detail and be a team player are essential. The successful candidate will have a high level of computer literacy and ability to use their initiative to complete tasks.
