Your future role
The Production Heavy Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of trains by overseeing the execution of the Heavy Maintenance plan. This role ensures that production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met through efficient resource management.
We’ll look to you for:
* Manage the Production Heavy Maintenance Team, including monitoring and controlling Heavy Maintenance Projects.
* Ensure that accountability for the heavy maintenance projects is clearly defined and delegated.
* Identify staffing requirements for budgeted fixed workload ensuring flexibility and high levels of productivity are achieved.
* Manage organisational change to optimise working practices.
* Identify training and other resource needs for effective heavy maintenance projects.
* Ensure all Production meets the Safety and Quality requirements of internal standards and customer specifications.
* Monitor working practices to ensure compliance with mandatory and statutory requirements.
* Ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with local policies and procedures.
* Minimise heavy maintenance operating costs and maximise efficiencies through effective resource planning.
* Review work plans to ensure daily heavy maintenance targets are met.
* Proactively identify areas for improvement through analysis of production/service operation reports.
* Manage relationships with sub-contractors and customers.
* Support continuous improvement of processes.
All about you

* Higher National Certificate, or equivalent, in an Engineering field preferable.
* Management experience of large groups of staff (10+).
* Preferable experience in fleet and/or maintenance operations.
* Technical knowledge of relevant Traction and Rolling Stock.
* Understanding of Railway Depot and Railway Industry Operations preferable.
* Understanding of local Customer requirements.
* Ability to use SAP and MS Office packages.
