Competency Development Manager
We have an opportunity in our Operations Team to become a Competency Development Manager based at our St Albans location on our Thameslink route.
You will be reporting to the Lead Competency Manager - Driver. Your role will be to develop and maintain a high performing, competent and customer focused team of Train Crew through effective application of all competence and policy requirements.
TheCompetency Development Managerrole:
* To ensure we have a competent and customer focused team of drivers through effectiveapplication of all GTR competence and policy requirements, this should be proactive and risk-based to deliver continuous improvements in safety, risk management and train performance outputs.
* Responsible for responding as first line on call response for operating incidents involving TLGN.
* To undertake initial incident investigations, gather appropriate evidence and provide reports and documentation in accordance with Company Procedures and Rail Group Standards.
Competency Development ManagerKnowledge:
* Knowledge and competence in all rules and standards applicable to train operation on Network Rail controlled infrastructure and their application is required
* Competence in Personal Track Safety (PTS) Competent to investigate accidents and incidents with the objective of identifying immediate and basic underlying causes and make associated recommendations to prevent re-occurrence
* A1/A2 & L12or equivalent, nationally recognised competence
* Assessment and coaching qualification
* Root cause investigation and interview techniques
* Competent to act as TOLO
Competency Development ManagerSkills
* Must have at least 4 years experience as a qualified train driver and maintain this competence with the TLGN Drivers Competence Management System
* Excellent interviewing skills and techniques
Competency Development ManagerExperience
* Must have a minimum of 4 years competence or previous experience in Railway Operations and management, including competence management systems and standards application
* Must not have had a Safety of the Line incident within the last 3 years and no Signal Passed at Danger incidents within the last 2 years prior to application
* Experience of dealing with stakeholders
* Chain of Care process
