As part of the Marketing Coordinator Apprenticeship, you will build the foundations of your career by developing your knowledge, skills and behaviours through high-performing, meaningful work, whilst working towards an industry-recognised qualification. You will contribute to the development and improvement of Nationwide’s processes, products and services in your department.
Following the 18-month Apprenticeship journey, you should be ready for a post Apprenticeship, Marketing Coordinator role in the Creative Centre of Excellence within the Customer, Brand and Engagement function.
We’ll need you to build rewarding relationships across the organisation and externally to understand customer needs, resolve problems and support the delivery of the Society blueprint.
You will attend webinars, technical training, and be supported by an apprenticeship skills coach alongside your line manager and team to achieve your best.
This Apprenticeship sits in the Personalisation and Performance Marketing team, who are responsible for delivering personalised interactions that are meaningful to our customers, as well as report on and manage marketing performance. They oversee the planning and development of the Customer Contact Strategy, defining how we reach and engage customers in 1:1 channels, including the strategy for Marketing Consent.

What you’ll be doing
The apprenticeship standard you’ll be completing is the Level 4 Marketing Executive Apprenticeship, which will develop you towards the role of a Marketing Coordinator over a 2-year period, gaining the knowledge and skills that our Customer, Brand and Engagement function requires.
As a Marketing Coordinator Apprentice, you will work in a highly customer focused role which requires creativity, communication and project management skills.
You will work in one of our Customer Marketing Squads, consisting of all the essential skills and resources required to develop and deliver marketing campaigns. You will work towards an agreed set of objectives/vision, and will keep the customer at the heart of every decision you make.
Working alongside other Marketing Coordinators, and with support from your manager, you will be responsible for supporting on the creative development and delivery of clear, engaging and highly personalised direct marketing campaigns. Working across all channels - email, mail, digital prompts, you will help manage the end-to-end process, from the initial briefing through to go-live. You will also ensure all campaigns are delivered on brand, on time and within budget.
You will brief copywriters or our creative agency on asset/campaign requirements, and work with your team to ensure that all assets are reviewed, meet regulatory requirements and are approved through our internal creative review process by all key stakeholders.
Whilst in the role you will start to understand how your campaigns perform, helping to collate campaign performance data for review. Supporting your manager in providing learnings and insight for future optimisation, to improve campaigns and customer experience.
The apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with Remit.

Entry requirements:
In order to be eligible to apply for this role you must meet the following criteria:
* Have right to work in the UK – if non-British, your current visa or immigration status must cover the duration of the apprenticeship which would span at least 20 months.
* Have been living in the UK or EEA countries for the last 3 years.
* Not be enrolled in another apprenticeship or other government funded programme.
* *If you are under the age of 19, you will need to have two GCSE’s at A-C/grade 9-4 (or equivalent) in Maths and English Language.
* Working in England 50%+ of the time is a requirement of the role.
As per recent government announcement all apprentices, who were aged 19 and over at the start of their apprenticeship training (October 2025), will no longer be required to hold or achieve English and maths qualifications to pass their apprenticeship.
*Apprentices who are aged 16 to 18 at the start of their training (October 2025), will still be required to achieve English and Maths qualifications to support their career progression.
