As an Advanced Clinical Optometrist, the post holder will provide expert clinical optometric knowledge with the highest level of specialised training to provide disease treatment, patient care, and management of both complex optometric and specific ophthalmological caseloads.
This is a part-time role to cover maternity leave based at RUH Ophthalmology Unit and with the potential for some clinics at Frome Medical Practice.
The role demands the highest level of professional responsibility within optometry, exceeding that of both community and traditional hospital eye service optometrists both in terms of breadth and depth of knowledge, skills, and experience. The role requires experience as a non-medical prescriber and relevant specialist postgraduate qualifications.
The post holder will actively contribute to teaching, audit, and clinical governance and may be required to deputise for the service lead as required.
