We are an AI-driven healthcare company dedicated to revolutionizing early interception and treatment of lung disease, starting with one of the deadliest, lung cancer. We support clinicians in making life-saving treatment decisions on behalf of their patients. To do this, we have the world's first and only FDA-cleared and reimbursable product for AI-powered prioritization and diagnostic support for lung cancer. We are working to scale our commercial success, and expand our platform to drive optimal decisions across the patient journey.
What's the role?
Your main contribution to Optellum's success will be in:
* Working in an agile, cross-functional engineering team
* Develop tooling to improve the productiveness of the teams across optellum and clear documentation to enable engineers to self-service whenever possible
* The security of our cloud services and products
* Manage cloud service operations, ensure cloud production systems are up and running, with processes and alert systems to manage down time
* Growing the capabilities of our observability and alerting platform ensure the health and reliability of our services
* Be proactive to look for and fix potential security and availability issues
* Work with our CI/CD pipeline to increase the level of automation throughout our development and delivery workflows
* Organise infrastructure to ensure robust business continuity (backups, etc)
Who are you?
Essential qualities, skills & experience
You should be or have all of these:
* Proven experience deploying and maintaining cloud services
* A keen eye for InfoSec: you know what it takes to be confident that a cloud deployment is bullet-proof
* Practical experience using Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Teraform, Ansible)
* Good knowledge of the containerization technology, networking and
* Familiarity with the services (storage, serverless, messaging) of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure)
* Proven coding ability with at least one scripting or programming language - Python, Ruby, Go, PowerShell etc.
* Extensive experience of Linux
* Can-learn attitude, readiness to occasionally switch hats
* Practical experience using Infrastructure as Code approach along with building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
* The ability to take ownership and ensure the team's ability to deliver
Desirable qualities, skills & experience
One or more of these would be advantageous:
* Passion for biomedical topics
* Experience from a start-up or a fast-growing company
* Bachelor's and Associate Degree in Computer Science, Technical, Information Technology, Engineering, Science, Information Security, or Information Systems / Application Security
* Deploying and maintaining services in Azure
* Leading cybersecurity threat modelling and utilising relevant tools such as ThreatModeler, Checkmarx, and Aqua
* Extensive experience of Kubernetes and Podman
* Knowledge of hospital IT systems (PACS, DICOM, HL7, FHIR)
* Experience of working in a regulated environment
* The accreditation process of Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001
* Familiarity with GDPR, HIPAA regulations and NHS DSPT contractual requirements
