Job Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Ofsted Registered Manager to lead our children’s residential care home. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to safeguarding, high standards of care, and a proactive approach to meeting Ofsted requirements. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive, therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the home meets Ofsted standards, Children’s Homes Regulations, and other legal requirements. Prepare for inspections and maintain accurate records.
2. Safeguarding and Child Protection: Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring all policies are strictly followed to protect children’s safety and well-being.
3. Staff Leadership: Lead recruitment, training, and development of care staff, providing regular supervision, performance reviews, and mentoring.
4. Individualized Care Planning: Develop and monitor personalized care plans in coordination with therapeutic and educational professionals to meet each child’s unique needs.
5. Creating a Positive Environment: Foster a warm, family-like atmosphere, encouraging children’s social, emotional, and personal development.
6. Resource and Budget Management: Oversee financial resources, ensuring efficient use of budgets to maintain high-quality care.
7. Behaviour and Crisis Management: Implement positive behaviour management techniques and handle crises calmly, supporting staff in challenging situations.
Qualifications & Skills:
1. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or willingness to achieve this).
2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
3. Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Ofsted requirements.
4. Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
5. Compassionate, resilient, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for children.
