We are looking for a dedicated Clinic Support Worker to join our team.
In this role, you will work to support clinicians in delivering high-quality care to patients with cancer.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting with patient observations.
2. Preparing patients for examinations.
3. Ensuring smooth communication between various departments such as Radiology, Pharmacy, and Oncology.
4. Providing emotional and practical support to patients during their treatment journey.
5. Ensuring that patients understand their follow-up arrangements and explaining the timing of any investigations requested by the clinician.
6. Meeting with the team on a weekly basis to discuss clinic requirements for the forthcoming week.
7. Liaising with colleagues daily to ensure that all clinics are covered and reporting to the manager when required.
8. Measuring and recording patient height and weight.
9. Bringing up results of investigations to include IHCS, PACS, Ultragenda, Infoflex screens during clinics as required.
10. Advising/assisting patients in preparing for clinical examination, maintaining privacy/dignity at all times.
11. Following a decision to treat, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed correctly and relevant staff informed, so that appointments can be made with the minimum of delay.
12. Discussing transport requirements with patients and enquiring about preferred time of day for treatment.
13. Demonstrating own activities or workplace routines to new or less experienced employees placed within the Oncology Office/Reception area.

The Cancer Services Directorate has an exciting remit and covers Ricky Grant Day Unit, Turner Ward, Haematology, Medical Oncology, Specialist Palliative Care, End of Life Education Team and Lymphoedema Services.
Non-Surgical Cancer Services teams provide a critical role in delivering effective and efficient patient care.
We work with the clinical and nursing teams across the Integrated Care organisation to provide an outstanding service to the patients we serve.
