Job overview
The Perinatal Mental Health Service is a growing specialist service for women/birthing people and their families in Sheffield. We are excited to have received investment to expand the service and are now recruiting more staff to join our team. You will need to be an experienced Mental Health Practitioner with a passion for perinatal mental health. Experience in this field is not essential as full induction is offered, but you should be keen to develop a career in this area.
Main duties of the job
* Work as a Practitioner in the Perinatal Mental Health Service in Sheffield.
* Triage referrals into the service and work into a duty rota.
* Undertake assessments and coordinate treatment plans for clients at high risk of childbirth-related serious and complex mental illness.
* Provide specialist advice about evidence-based treatments for perinatal mental health disorders.
* Joint working with other services and organizations, especially with clients needing additional skills during pregnancy and the postnatal period.
* Support clients with recovery and ensure timely and safe discharge from the service.
Person specification
Experience
* Substantial post-registration experience including acute/crisis work.
* Experience in multi-disciplinary/multi-agency teams.
* Evidence of achievement in clinical practice.
* Experience working with patients with perinatal mental health issues.
Skills and knowledge
* Knowledge of perinatal mental health issues.
* Ability to work independently with sound decision-making skills.
* Effective assessment and intervention skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Training and qualifications
* Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or other relevant AHP.
* Educated to degree level or above.
* Evidence of post-registration Continuing Professional Development.
