Job Title: Adult Learning Disabilities Psychologist Band: 7/8a Location: Northampton Working Hours: 37.5 We are seeking a dedicated HCPC registered applied psychologist to join our client’s well-established psychology department in Northampton, offering professional support and a wide range of expertise. This position is available on a locum basis for the successful candidate to start immediately for a short-term contract. What will your responsibilities be? As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide care to over 100 patients, working alongside professionals in psychiatry, nursing, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, social work, adult education, CAPS, vocational training, and physical health and exercise teams. You will manage a caseload of patients with the assistance of an assistant psychologist. Your role involves assessing, formulating, delivering treatment, and evaluating clinical outcomes using a broad cognitive behavioral model. You will address impairments in autism and intellectual disability, provide psychological treatment for emotional and psychiatric disorders, and offer offense-related interventions to reduce recidivism. Conducting clinical risk assessments and management using standardized methods will be a major aspect of your role. Additionally, you will support and develop multidisciplinary team practices on the wards and assist patients transitioning from hospital to community living in bespoke properties on-site.
