An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated individuals to join the paediatric epilepsy nurse specialist team on a fixed term secondment (1 year) for 23.75 hours/week. This is a band 7 role however we will consider applicants as a band 6 depending on their level of experience.
You will need evidence of proven clinical ability in Paediatrics, sound communication & leadership skills, experience of working within a multi – disciplinary team, good problem solving & organisational abilities.

You will work across professional, departmental and trust boundaries as required to develop and support patient- centred seamless care.
You will take responsibility for the initial contact with patients and their families from the time of referral to provide specialist nursing advice, practical and psychological support
You will manage a patient case load, to agreed referral/discharge criteria, and act as 'key worker'. Effectively working in partnership with other professionals and referring patients to other practitioners as required.
You will provide appropriate information and education to patients and their families to promote health and encourage self-care and participation in the planned programme of treatment and care.
You will need the ability to travel to clinic settings and have excellent organisational skills to manage your time effectively.
