Job Details
The main focus of the role is to ensure that we maintain a high standard of internal controls across Alliance Healthcare, and close the monthly/quarterly/annual reporting on a timely basis. The role will work closely with the AH Divisional Controller, AH Divisional Financial Reporting & Consolidation Accountant and the AH Senior Manager of Internal Controls to ensure that we comply with external regulations and internal policies and procedures, that we develop and improve the control environment across Alliance Healthcare and look to share best practice.
This is a challenging and high profile position with a leading part to play in closing the monthly/quarterly/annual reporting and maintaining and developing the control environment of Alliance Healthcare. To succeed in this role, you will need to build effective relationships across the business and establish credibility with senior managers.
The key responsibilities and accountabilities will include:
1. Prime responsibility for certain central entities ensuring timely information is received from 3rd party service providers and subsequently uploaded into the Group Consolidation System
2. Preparation of significant central journal entries and maintenance of the associated support
3. Preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting to Cencora Corporate Accounting
4. Operation of Divisional Controls (known as Group Wide Controls) in the areas of consolidation and reporting
5. Helping to review policies and procedures and monitoring the implementation and adherence to such policies across Alliance Healthcare
6. Reviewing and rationalising the company structure in each of our countries across Alliance Healthcare, to set up or remove entities from the structure
7. Dealing with technical accounting questions from the businesses
8. Oversight of inter-company re-charging, management charges etc.
9. Ad-hoc requests upwards from the businesses or downwards from Cencora Group management.
10. Conducting a variety of project work, including investment and CAPEX appraisals
11. Liaison with the external auditors for statutory audits (certain entities) and group audits around quarter-end and year end reporting requirements

12. A qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA or CIMA, with relevant PQE, and solid education credentials
13. A background in practice or in industry
14. Technically proficient, ideally with US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley experience
15. Financial controls experience, either from an audit perspective or within a sizable international organisation
16. Excellent report writing skills
17. Commercial or relevant sector experience not essential but would be of added value
18. Excellent communication skills
19. Self-starter, motivated and ambitious
20. Be capable of challenging in a constructive and positive manner
21. Be able to listen and influence / persuade through weight of reasoning and character
22. Experience with Oracle as a Consolidation tool desirable
